These dogs, Border Collies, are trained to herd, harass and discourage the birds from frequenting the area but they will not harm the animals.  

Canada geese are protected by Federal and State law.  Border Collies are recommended by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Humane Society due to the highly evolved herding instincts.  The dogs are controlled by handlers with years of experience and who have earned numerous awards from the American Kennel club for Obedience and Agility.  During these patrols all geese will be removed from the grounds.  This includes all fields, parking lots, roadways and lawns and ponds.  The visits will be scheduled around your activities.  We will make every effort to be as unobtrusive as possible. The safety of visitors and staff will never be compromised.  

The times of the visits are normally in the early morning, mid-day and afternoon but this can be adjusted according to your schedule and the habits of the geese.
